Notice: FY22 IDEA Part C Application Is Available for Review and Comment

Purpose:
Sunday, March 13, 2022, The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires states and other public agencies to implement programs designed to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities and their families.
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) reviews and approves state plans and monitors the IDEA Part C formula grant programs to ensure consistency with federal requirements including by providing policy guidance and information organized by topic area.
New Mexico is applying for another year of grant funding through OSEP for Early Intervention Services (Part C of the Individuals with Disability Education Act). The Part C Grant Application is for New Mexico’s statewide system of early intervention service for infants and toddlers’ birth to three years of age with or at-risk of developmental delays and disabilities and their families. This program is known as the Family Infant Toddler Program (FIT) within New Mexico.
REVIEW AND COMMENT CONTACT:
The public comment period for the FY22 IDEA PART C Application will run from Sunday, March 13, 2022, through Friday, April 15, 2022.
