FY23 IDEA Part C Application

Purpose:
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires states and other public agencies to implement programs designed to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities and their families.
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) reviews and approves state plans and monitors the IDEA Part C formula grant programs to ensure consistency with federal requirements including by providing policy guidance and information organized by topic area.
New Mexico is applying for another year of grant funding through OSEP for Early Intervention Services (Part C of the Individuals with Disability Education Act). The Part C Grant Application is for New Mexico’s statewide system of early intervention service for infants and toddlers’ birth to three years of age with or at-risk of developmental delays and disabilities and their families. This program is known as the Family Infant Toddler Program (FIT) within New Mexico.
SUBMISSION:
The completed application must be submitted to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) on or before Wednesday, May 24, 2023, to ensure that the FIT program FFY2021 IDEA Part C Federal Funds are available for obligation on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Members of the public are encouraged to review and provide comment on the application. As you review the application, please note the following:
- The costs included in this application only reflect those attributable to the federal IDEA Part C funds that are allocated to the state of New Mexico and not the total cost of the Family Infant Toddler Program.
- The public comment period for the above grant will run from Friday, March 24 through Friday May 19, 2023.
